While it’s huge to be able to get rid of unpleasant feelings in the moment, that’s really just scratching the surface of what Feeling Healing can do. Following the instructions on this page, you’ll be able to revisit unpleasant incidents in your past and completely neutralize their effect on your psyche.
For example, say you’ve got a memory of feeling humiliated in front of your entire class in 8th grade — you stumbled over a word and everybody taunted you, or whatever. For whatever reason, this stuck in your gut and haunted you for months afterward. You never felt the same, and you can trace at least some of your feeling of unease in social situations to that incident.
To completely clear this trauma, you use all the same basic elements of Feeling Healing, with one difference. When you rub up, you’re going to rub up on every aspect of the situation you can recall. For example, the feeling of humiliation, a feeling of panic, a feeling of being trapped, wanting someone to defend you or rescue you, the way you felt when you saw the expression on the face of that cute girl you liked. Each time you identify, and feel, another aspect, rub up again.
Keep going until your mind goes blank and you can’t think of anything else. Then, after you’ve got all the aspects covered, run the three phases. You may feel disoriented for a few seconds after you’re done. A lot of material has just disappeared from your mind, so it takes some adjusting.
Then, think about the incident again. If you have no emotional reaction, that means you’re done. If you still have some reaction, all it means is that you missed something the first time around. Start rubbing up again, collecting every aspect you can find, and again run the three phases.
It’s unusual to need to go more than three rounds, but if you do, just keep going until you’re done.
